Abstract

The Mesoamerican area is constituted as a bridge and biophysical and cultural reservoir of planetary importance, subject to increasing tensions between conservation and use of natural resources, in a context of social and political inequality, as well as an aggravation of the global environmental crisis. Within this framework, this issue of the Pueblos y Fronteras Digital Magazine offers a series of investigations carried out in the southeastern region of Mexico, with themes, methodologies and disciplinary perspectives that expose the complexity of the study of the environmental in interaction with the social.
